Salalah, Oman

Back in August we decided to use all of our Hilton Honors points and spend a week in Salalah, Oman.  We had been meaning to travel to Oman for sometime because it is right next to the UAE.  Salalah is an eleven hour drive from Dubai through the desert...so we flew on FlyDubai (a discount airline).  The reason we picked Salalah vs. Muscat (the capital city) is because we wanted to experience khareef.  Khareef is the rainy season that they enjoy every summer.

Al Mughsayl Beach - to see the blow holes on the coast

Buying some date juice

Museum of the Frankincense Land - they are in front of a frankincense tree

Exploring Al Balid Archaeological Site

Job's Tomb...as in Job from the Book of Job in the Bible

Camels in the road!

At the port in Mirbat

Sumhuram Archaeological Park

Wadi Darbat

Wadi Darbat

Bowling at the Oasis Club at the Port of Salalah.  What a find this place was!  Let's just say this is where all the expats and sailors hang out.  Fun!

Instructions on how to use a toilet in the lavatory on our FlyDubai flight...just in case you forgot.
