A trip to Oz

Here are the pictures for our amazing trip to Western Australia.  We were there for two and a half weeks and feel like we only saw a tiny bit of the country.  It is big!  We flew into Perth, spent a few nights, then rented a car and drove to the southwest.  The first week we were at Pump Hill Farm in Pemberton, and the next week at William Bay Cottages near Denmark.

Relaxing in the sauna after a busy day exploring Perth.

You can't go to Australia without touring a prison, right?  This is in front of the Fremantle Prison.

Ingrid and Henri enjoying the morning hayride at Pump Hill Farm.

Henri feeding chickens.  Afterwards, we got to go into the hen house and pick out fresh eggs.  We went back to our cottage and fried them up, yummy!

Explorer girl Ingrid on a hike in the karri forest.

We are standing in a giant karri tree.

Ingrid is feeding, Humphrey, a nine-week-old calf.  That is farmer Dan in the background.

Even Pappa joined in on the hayride.

Enjoying a day at Windy Harbour beach.  It lived up to its name and was very windy with really big waves.  We only saw three other people on the beach!

A look-out point at Windy Harbour.

Praying for their lives!

Our evening feeding of carrots to the horses.  This one is named Mickey, and was Ingrid's favorite animal at the farm.

Kjell on the Valley of the Giants Tree Top Walk.

The kids enjoying an evening swim at Greens Pool near Denmark, Western Australia.

Wild kangaroos at the farm where we were staying.  They come out at sunset to eat.

Hand feeding a tame kangaroo.  They are so fun to watch move.

Playing with the birds at Dinosaur World wildlife park.

Burning off that last bit of energy.

On the coast near Albany, Western Australia.

Ingrid holding a baby kangaroo, aka a joey.

All tired out and ready to go home.
